The educational documentary focuses much more on Wohlleben, his experiences, and his activities. ![]() The book goes into great depth about the interconnectivity of trees to each other and the plants, fungi, and other varied life they exchange with to create forests as well as how humans can impact the health, growth, and evolution of these forests. While it would be safe to assume both the book and the documentary The Hidden Life of Trees would be the same, it is a surprisingly incorrect assumption. German Forester Peter Wohlleben gained a lot of attention after the publishing of his 2015 international bestseller The Hidden Life of Trees. ![]()

His 1960s series, The Defenders, was the finest drama of its age and set the standard for legal dramas. More than any writer in the Golden Age of Television, Reginald Rose took up vital social issues of the day-from racial prejudice to juvenile delinquency to civil liberties-and made them accessible to a wide audience. Rosenzweig's 12 Angry Men tells two stories: the life of a great writer and the journey of his most famous work, one that ultimately outshined its author. Few twentieth-century American dramatic works have had the acclaim and impact of 12 Angry Men. It is also a favorite of the legal profession for its portrayal of ordinary citizens reaching a just verdict and widely taught for its depiction of group dynamics and human relations. Today, 12 Angry Men is acclaimed as a movie classic, revered by the critics, beloved by the public, and widely performed as a stage play, touching audiences around the world. Consisting of little more than a dozen men arguing in a dingy room, it was a failure at the box office and soon faded from view. In early 1957, a low-budget black-and-white movie opened across the United States. Once again the thrift store bookshelf made me buy another self-improvement book. “When I find myself focusing overmuch on the anticipated future happiness of arriving at a certain goal, I remind myself to ‘Enjoy now’. “Look for happiness under your own roof.” I loved the idea of the project and would recommend this book to anyone interested in the concept of happiness, or who might want to make a change in their life. (Read all about the book here in this blog post and here and here for my version of the project.)Īlthough I’ve already written about it, I wanted to bring it back for Book of the Week, as I remember being so inspired by Rubin’s thorough documentation of her daily adventures in trying to be happier. Zolaya is one of my favorite hunks from the books because he’s so kind, considerate, and funny! He has no problem embarrassing himself to save Ariana from humiliation and I am all about that. So even though a character may be a blond in the books, doesn’t mean I cast a blond actress (though hair dye is always an option). I didn’t go much by appearance because in my opinion, sharing a physical characteristic with a character doesn’t necessarily mean that person could portray the character. homeboy is a little old to be playing one of the sexy Sa-khui (not that he would have a problem shacking up with a girl in her early 20’s). So I probably won’t include someone like Leonardo DiCaprio on the list, because 1. I’m trying to stick to TV actors in their 20s to 30s who I think could play the role well.
