![]() ![]() ![]() You have the Lynch brothers: secretive Declan with his arson of lies and half truths to keep his family safe beloved “dream” Matthew whom you just want to give a hug and of course, classic, brooding and razor-sharp Ronan whom I loved even more in this series as we got to see more of his dynamic and his growth as a dreamer. ![]() ![]() That being said, there are new characters and old characters making appearances in Call Down The Hawk. I felt it was as much character-driven as it was plot-driven-something that TRC lacked but nonetheless, can be overlooked in that particular series whereas the plot of Call Down The Hawk was essential to the series as much as the characters. The Dreamer trilogy is just as atmospheric filled with surreal prose but with a lot darker twist. I have always loved Maggie’s writing- The Raven Cycle is on my list of favourite series of all time, so suffice to say, when I heard she was doing a sort of spin off TRC, I was thrilled, over the moon. The first book in Maggie Stiefvater’s new, Dreamer trilogy was not an explosive book but rather a subtle tour de force and I think that was the beauty of this book. You are made of dreams and this world is not for you. ![]()
